Find out more about Milngavie’s industrial heritage
An exhibition entitled “The Industries of Milngavie” is going to be held in the court room, Milngavie Town Hall from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, September 12 to Saurday, September 19 (except Sunday).
It has been organised by Milngavie Heritage Centre and will concentrate on the staple industries that were traditionally based in Milngavie and provide details of the history of the Milngavie Mill (Gavin’s Mill) on Woodburn Way which is now used as a restaurant but still houses some of the original machinery, and the West of Scotland Laundry.
A related historical walk around former industrial sites in Milngavie will also be led by Donald Shankland on Saturday, September 12 from Gavin’s Mill at 11am to which all are invited.
