Green fingered residents held their annual vegetable growing competition recently to raise money for the Bumblebee Conservation Trust.
Residents in Thorn Drive, Bearsden, and friends, choose a specific vegetable to grow each year and the person with the finest example wins.
Elaine Stephen and Pam Blair came joint first, having both grown impressive pepper plants. The event raised £124.
Seona Nairn, from Thorn Drive, said; “There was a lot of fun as usual, and the quiz about bees had everyone laughing.
“If you want to help save bees you should plant fox gloves, heather, buddliea and honey suckle, but there are loads more if you look on the internet.
“Thanks to Caulders Garden Centre and Mugdock Country Park for donating soil, and also to B&Q for contributing to the cost of the pepper plant seeds.”
