Waitrose Milngavie shoppers will be serenaded by a quartet of leading Scottish chamber musicians this weekend, as part of National Chamber Music Day.
McOpera Brass, a quartet of two trumpets, one horn and one trombone, will play in Waitrose Milngavie from 1pm to 3pm this Saturday, in an exclusive performance for customers.
Waitrose Milngavie was approached by the Milngavie Music Club, which is part of Enterprise Music Scotland, to take part in National Chamber Music Day.
Maureen Cronshaw, department manager retail support at Waitrose Milngavie, said: “This will be a lovely treat for Partners and our customers.
“We’re really pleased to have worked with the Milngavie Music Club and be part of National Chamber Music Day.
Ahilya Noon from the Milngavie Music Club said: “We have been promoting chamber music since 1942 and regularly hold performances in Cairns Church.
“It’s great that Waitrose is hosting McOpera Brass this Saturday, as it will help us introduce more people in the community to chamber music. I’m sure they’ll love it as much as we do.
McOpera Brass is part of Music Co-OPERAtive Scotland, which was formed in 2012 by musicians from the orchestra of Scottish Opera, Scotland’s only fully professional opera orchestra.
