Drop-in session for public to quiz Waitrose developers

People wanting to find out more about the construction of the new Waitrose supermarket in Milngavie are invited to a special drop-in session on Monday.

Builders Barr Construction are inviting residents to put their concerns to them at the event at West of Scotland Football Club’s clubhouse between 3pm and 7pm.

In a letter to residents, a spokesman for the company said: “We’re holding this session ahead of work starting on site later this month.

“Anyone living nearby who may have questions about the construction can speak directly to us.

“Waitrose hope to open their doors to customers in Spring 2015.”

The new store will be built on the club’s third pitch. As part of the project, a new all-weather pitch will be built on an area currently unused.

The spokesman added: “Roundabout improvements and upgrades to the A81 will help to manage traffic flows while providing pedestrians with safe crossings and improved pavements.”
