Roadworks started on Balfleurs Street cul-de-sac, Milngavie, to extend it so that it would link up Lynn Drive with Baldernock Road.
After several years of delay the Milngavie dean approved the plan to give greater benefits for residents living in Barloch - meaning they would have two ways of accessing their homes.
The works were to benefit mothers with prams, who previously complained that they had to walk to the top of the estate and into Strathblane Road in order to get to the shops in the centre of the town.
The work was also carried out because of safety concerns. If a fire or flood had occurred, previously there had only been one entry to the whole estate, which could have become blocked.
