EAST Dunbartonshire Council is reminding parents that they need to put their child’s name forward this week for a nursery place in 2012/13.
Children born between March 1, 2009, and February 28, 2010, are now eligible to register for a nursery place for session 2012/13.
All ante-pre-school children who are due to commence nursery in August, 2012, January 2013, and April, 2013, must register by today (Friday).
Completed registration forms can be submitted to any East Dunbartonshire primary school for verification this week between 10am and 12noon along with the child’s birth certificate, proof of residency and proof of legal guardianship (if appropriate).
Gordon Currie, head of education at East Dunbartonshire Council, said: “We have a key role in ensuring that parents have the opportunity to send their pre-school or ante-pre-school child to a registered nursery establishment.
“It’s important to emphasise you should register your child this week regardless of whether they will commence nursery in August, 2012, January, 2013 or April, 2013.”
Registration forms and information leaflets are available from East Dunbartonshire local authority schools, libraries, Tom Johnston House, Kirkintilloch, The Triangle, Bishopbriggs, and Southbank House, Kirkintilloch.
