Disruption for motorists in the west end of Glasgow

Kelvinhaugh Street will be closed at its junction with Argyle Street and there will be no access to Kelvinhaugh Street from Argyle Street.

The work is part of Scottish Water’s £250 million, five-year investment in improvements to the waste water infrastructure in the Greater Glasgow area.

Their aim is to reduce the number of spills from Combined Sewer Overflows (CSOs) into the River Kelvin during prolonged heavy rainfall.

Before this work in the River Kelvin area can begin, they need to carry out borehole investigations in Kelvinhaugh Street at the junction of Argyle Street.

The road traffic management has been planned in liaison with Glasgow City Council’s roads department. Local diversions will be signposted.
