Police plea after man and woman attacked by gang of youths in Bishopbriggs

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man and woman were assaulted in Bishopbriggs by a group of youths on Sunday night.

The thugs struck at Kirkintilloch Road near to Morrisons around 6.50pm on Sunday, September 27.

According to reports on social media, around six youngsters were involved in the incident.

They are alleged to have thrown eggs at the man’s van, according to reports, before pushing the woman, who is believed to be pregnant, to the ground.

Police want to speak to anyone who say anything and who have recorded footage of the attack to get in touch.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.50pm on Sunday, 27 September, officers were called to the Kirkintilloch Road area of Bishopbriggs, following a report of a man and a woman being assaulted by a number of youths. Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

“Anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the assault take place, or who has potential video of the incident, is urged to contact police on 101, quoting incident 3090 of 27 September.”
