Police appeal after girl (16) raped in Bearsden park

Police are appealing for information after a 16-year-old girl was raped near a park in Bearsden.

The teenager was walking in a wooded area near the entrance to Dawsholme Park at Ilay Court in Bearsden when she was sexually assaulted around 8.10pm on Monday.

Police are now hunting the attacker and have appealed for anyone with any information to contact them.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “We are carrying out enquiries after a 16-year-old woman was seriously sexually assaulted at Dawsholm Park in a wooded area a short distance from the entrance at Ilay Court in Glasgow at 8.10pm on Monday 1 June.

“Anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident is asked to contact officers on 101 quoting 4107 of 1 June.”
