Man (55) arrested for £19,000 alleged bogus work scams in East Dunbartonshire
A 55-year-old man has been arrested and charged with allegedly scamming vulnerable people in East Dunbartonshire of up to £19,000.
Most of the alleged bogus work is understood to relate to roof and outdoor repairs.
He is currently in custody and was detained after an investigation through the local police force’s Operation Skipjack campaign, aimed at clamping down on rogue traders.
Local police warn people to be on their guard. If you suspect anyone of being a bogus worker, contact officers on 101.
Local Chief Inspector Lorna Gibson said: “The people who commit doorstep crime are deplorable. I am determined to make East Dunbartonshire a no-go area for these so called ‘workers”.
