Strathendrick Film Society - the next film being shown is on Friday, April 13. ‘Great While Silence’ (108mins), is the re-master of a 1924 Documentary on Scott’s expedition to South Pole. Starts at 7.30pm in Balfron High School.

One night membership is £4. Please just turn up at the High school as there are 250 seats in the raked seating theatre. The screen is 21ft. For more information go to

A SPRING fair with craft market is going to be held on Saturday, April 19 from midday till 4pm at Balfron High School.

There will be over 50 fabulous stalls, demonstration tables, a tea room, raffle and tombola.

There will also be professional photographers with their own photo studio taking family portraits at the special price of £10 for three portraits supplied on CD at the Fair.

This is a fundraising event for Balfron High School Trust.


KILLEARN Bridge Club - the results for Tuesday, March 27 (Championship) are – 1st Donald Kennedy & Eileen Lindsay, 2nd Jimmy Grieve & Sudershan Nagpal and 3rd Beth Farish & Judith Townson.


THE next meeting of Drymen WRI on April 12 will be an outing to Kilmahog Woollen Mill.

The bus will leave the square at 2pm.

Members are also reminded of the May meeting when contributions for the buffet supper would be appreciated.
