KILLEARN Community Council - the next meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 18 at 8pm in the Primary School.

As well as the regular items on the agenda, we will also be discussing our response to Stirling Council’s draft open space strategy. All local residents will be very welcome at the meeting.


BALFRON High School’s Comenius group holds a coffee morning on January 28 from 10am to 1pm in Killearn Church Hall to promote local trade.

There will be a variety of stalls and refreshments to give businesses and locals a chance to come together to see what is available in the community.

They’d love to see as many there as possible supporting local businesses, and if anyone would like to hire a stall, please get in contact with Mrs Anderson in Modern Languages at the school, on 01360 440469.

NATASHA Guinessy talks to Strathblane Heritage Society on Wednesday, January 18 at the Village Club at 7.30pm.

She is the dance development officer for North Lanarkshire Council, and will talk about her task in 2010 of finding young people to take part in the Handover Ceremony at the end of the Delhi Commonwealth Games. Her story includes their training, and performance in Delhi.
