A new system for booking community lets in schools, community centres, halls and enterprise centres has been introduced by East Dunbartonshire Council.

The council says it will make it easier and quicker for customers to book and pay.

With the introduction of the new system, customers will be able to make new reservations directly online through the council’s website:

Council leader Rhondda Geekie says the new streamlined process is part of the council’s transformational change programme, aimed at introducing more effective and efficient ways of working.

She said: “We are committed to continually improving the services we deliver and our customers’ experience - identifying how we can improve our processes and systems and make them more cost effective.

“That’s really important given that we have to make significant budget savings in the next few years. Making savings in our back room processes gives us more scope to protect our frontline services.”

Customers have three options for making and paying for bookings - online, over the phone or in person at any community hub.

In addition the new, streamlined process sees the introduction of monthly emailed invoices, helping organisations to spread the cost of their payments. Future developments will mean customers will also be able to pay for their Lets online at the time of booking.
