Council pledge on Campie Fells

EAST Dunbartonshire Council has reiterated its committment to promote tourism in the Campsie Fells.

Responding to Stirling Council’s Draft Local Development Plan, which sets out a 20-year vision for the area, the council said it is determined to do its part to promote the hills and their communities.

Councillor John Dempsey, vice convener of development and infrastructure, said: “It is vital that we work with our partners to make the very best of the wonderful asset we have on our doorstep.

“I believe co-ordinated management for the Campsies would ensure protection of their natural habitats and species while opening up the area to as many visitors as possible..
