Bus company urges passengers to prepare for winter

FIRST Glasgow, the area’s biggest bus operator, is gearing up for winter and is urging its customers to visit its website for up-to-the-minute information on how its services might be affected by adverse weather conditions.

Operations director John Cahill is encouraging customers to keep themselves informed.

He said: “Getting our customers to where they want to go is our priority and we want our customers to be assured that we always do everything we can to keep our services operating.

“We urge our customers to keep up to date with how services are operating by visiting our website and following us on twitter.

“We work hard to minimise the impact that adverse weather can have on our customers’ travel plans, and therefore we will only withdraw services where it is no longer safe or viable to operate a service.”

First’s digital team will continually update the website www.firstglasgow.comwith the latest news of how bus services in Greater Glasgow are affected by adverse weather in addition to posting information about any service disruptions such as road closures.
