One of the charity’s directors, Jeanette Falconer, said: “We have all the usual local sponsors and many others. It promises to be a great day. We just need the sun to shine!”

Jeanette’s celebrity daughter Jenni Falconer is the charity’s patron.

Since 2000, Breast Cancer 2000 has raised the magnificent sum of £850,000 for the breast unit in the Western Infirmary and for the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre. This has been used for three main purposes.

First, to support cutting edge research, much of which has had a national impact on patient management. Secondly to purchase equipment to ensure that they can offer “state of the art” care for all of their patients and lastly to improve and enhance the environment in which patients are diagnosed and treated.
