THE police are warning residents in the Mugdock, Blanefield and Killearn areas to be vigilant following two break-ins at garden outhouses in larger isolated properties.
Garden power tools worth several thousands of pounds were stolen from two large country houses during the last week. At one location, a Jaguar car was also taken because the keys hadn’t been put somewhere safe.
Homeowners are being advised to properly secure any outbuildings they may have.
If storing power tools within a shed or outbuilding, it is recommended that further security measures be taken such as using bicycle chains to secure tools together and using lighting to illuminate outbuildings wherever possible.
If you are disturbed during the night, contact Central Scotland Police immediately on 01786 456000.
