Bearsden MSP Fiona McLeod is giving away 180 copies of the book Treasures: What Do We Treasure Most? to constituents, care homes and local charities in celebration of Book Week Scotland, which runs from November 25 to December 1.
As a bok lover and a former librarian, Ms McLeod said she is delighted to be supporting this special week dedicated to talking about and reading books.
She said: “This years Book Week give away is a collection of stories from people as diverse as Mairi Hedderwick, writer of the Katie Morag children’s series, comedian Hardeep Singh Kohli and author Denis Mina among many others. Each writer names a treasured item and tells the personal story behind the item – making for compelling reading.
“I love books and was delighted when Book Week Scotland approached me to support their literary activities at the end of November. Last year’s book was well received by constituents and I know ‘Treasures’ will be even more popular. There may be a few extra copies – so if anyone would like a free copy then please get in touch with the office and if available I will get one to you.”
