THOUSANDS of people in Bearsden will be left with no public transport during the day - after a bus service is axed.
First Glasgow has said the number 11 will be withdrawn from April 29, leaving Baljaffray with no day time buses.
Independent councillor Duncan Cumming recently organised a well attended public meeting on the future of bus services in the area.
He called the decision to axe the 11 as “devastating”, while First Glasgow said the route was uneconomical due to Scottish Government subsidy cuts.
The councillor said: “I was devastated to receive a phone call from Chris Carberry, network planning manager at First Bus Glasgow, intimating that the company had taken a decision to remove the bus service number 11 in its entirety, with no chance of a replacement of any kind for the areas served by the service.”
