Appeal for information about robbery of a man in Maryhill

The police are urging members of the public to come forward with information about the robbery of a man in Maryhill on Wednesday, March 30.

The 51-year-old man was walking on the canal path between Chapel Street and Lochburn Road, Maryhill at around 10.15am when two men approached him. One of the men restrained him whilst the other one removed personal items from his pockets.

The two men then ran off leaving the man uninjured but extremely shaken.

The suspects are described as white, aged between 20-25 years, average height and build and were wearing casual clothing.

Detective Constable Geraldine Josey at Maryhill CID said: “The canal path was relatively busy at this time and I am sure that people in the community will have either witnessed the robbery or have seen the suspects hanging around the area prior to the incident taking place or running off afterwards.

“Anyone with information is urged to contact officers at Maryhill CID via telephone number 101.”
