Police are appealing for information after a man was seriously assaulted in Bishopbriggs.
The 56-year-old man was attacked on Clelland Avenue at around 12.15am on Friday, December 18.
Police said the victim was approached by another man as he turned on to the avenue from Auchinairn Road, who then assaulted him.
The injured man was taken to the Glasgow Royal infirmary by ambulance and released following treatment.
Detective Constable Stephen Cooke of Kirkintilloch CID said: “The victim was left seriously injured as a consequence of this mindless attack.
“Officers have been carrying out door-to-door enquiries and checking available CCTV in the area. Detectives are following a positive line of enquiry at this time.
“The response form the local community has been encouraging. However, we still need people to come forward with any information they may have surrounding the incident.
“If you were on Clelland Avenue or close to Auchirnairn Road on Thursday night into Friday morning, you may have noticed something suspicious. It may be the case that you witnessed the incident or heard a disturbance as you were passing by.
“I would appeal to anyone who has any information that will help police with enquiries to come forward and contact us.”
