Staff and residents at Abbotsford House Care Home in Bearsden enjoyed celebrating the history of the building by holding a Victorian Day recently.
The beautiful building was built in 18th century and a family member had suggested that they should celebrate the era it was built in.
The Victorian Day was very popular with everyone, Bearsden Fiddlers performed and the beautiful gardens were decorated tastefully with lacy Victorian bunting. A section of the garden was earmarked for Victorian games such as tin can alley, croquet, hoopla, popcorn and prizes such as coconuts, etc.
They were then joined by a magician and had music from the Victorian Music Hall days.
Residents, families and staff all dressed in Victorian clothes including their activity co-ordinator, Cheryl who was Aunt Sally. Their special guest was Mr Chipping who opened the day in full Victorian attire, including his Victorian bicycle.
