THIS is the second week of our super readers’ competition with TEN FAMILIES being treated to Sunday lunch at The Burnbrae pub and restaurant in Bearsden.
We’ve teamed up with The Burnbrae to offer this excellent prize. Each week our lucky winner will receive a three-course meal, normally costing £14.49, for five people - a prize worth £72.45.
The winner, along with his or her four guests, can go along and tuck into the Sunday lunch roast which includes a main course of beef, lamb or spit-roast chicken dishes - excluding the sharing platters - in the friendly atmosphere of a traditional pub setting.
Following an extensive refurbishment last year, The Burnbrae has launched a new menu which also includes a two-course Sunday lunch for £11.49, main course with a starter or dessert, and the £14.49 three-course deal, both minus the sharing platters.
The Burnbrae, on Milngavie Road, still boasts a warm welcoming traditional pub feel, tastefully finished with low wooden beams.
A range of fine real ales with Cask Marque accreditation and a wide selection of good quality whiskies and vodka can be enjoyed within earshot of one of the crackling real fires that add a certain something to the ambience.
The Burnbrae was taken over by the Belhaven pub group two years ago and since then manager Gerry Savage has worked hard to attract new custom.
The ever-changing chalk board menus display a host of dishes created and prepared by an award-winning chef, using the finest ingredients. Fresh fish is the house speciality and also wild game when in season.
Gerry said: “There is not one particular type of person we are trying to attract. We welcome families, couples and the business community. We have quite a diverse clientele and just want the whole community to come along.”
Even though the pub was only built in 2001 it has the feel of a building from the turn of the 19th century. As well as the excellent choice of food from the main menu or the specials boards around the pub, there is an excellent choice of wines to accompany your meal.
So why not call in and maybe even stay at the Premier Inn next door to make your visit extra special?
The first week’s lucky winner is Wendy Owler, Allander Road, Bearsden.
