A BIG push to encourage more working folk in Milngavie and Bearsden to get outside at lunchtime was launched this week by Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH).
The organisation is urging people to make use of the green places close to where they work to take a bit of time out with nature during their lunch break.
To give people ideas on where to go and what to do, SNH has printed a series of leaflets with suggestions about what to do at lunchtime.
Ross Johnston, the group’s area manager, said: “Contact with nature helps us relax and recharges our batteries.
“Many of us who live in towns and cities feel cut off from nature but we’re lucky to have lots of green places to go in and around Milngavie and Bearsden – even if it’s just a bench under a tree or a patch of wild land.
“Rather than staying inside at lunchtime, leave life’s stresses and strains behind and enjoy your lunch in the open air, feed the birds or go for a walk in the rain or sun – and let your mind wander.”
