Camera Aperta exhibition being staged in New Lanark

That is because the World Heritage Village is hosting a string of events to add to the many historical and natural attractions it boasts all year round.

Already on, in the Village Institute, is a very special show, Camera Aperta, showcasing the very cream of Clydesdale’s photographic works.

It is being staged by the South Lanarkshire Photography Group and features the works of seven weel-kent local camera aces, namely Gavin Forrest, Jess Graham, Eric Malley, Sarah Peters, Roy Plenderleith, David Thompson and John Zawadzki.

It is described by the organisers as a “showcase of fine art and contemporary work” and will also, fittingly, include a mini-exhibition of some new views of the host village, New Lanark.

Entry to the exhibition, staged during normal Institute opening hours, is free of charge.

Later on in the month, the focus on providing entertainment moves firmly to the younger generation when, from Friday, April 18 to Monday, April 21, The New Lanark Easter Egg-stravaganza is being staged in the village.
