The news comes after the Strathkelvin and Bearsden MSP, in partnership with East Dunbartonshire Voluntary Action, helped secure several thousands of pounds investment for the local Addiction Recovery Centre (ARC) which is based in Kirkintilloch.

Ms Mackay said: “Over the past year, the pandemic has presented an incredible challenge for our health and support services and that has been recognised by the Scottish Government with a commitment of £145m into drug and alcohol services.

“Fantastic services such as the ARC, who EDVA and I have been delighted to assist gain further funding, are run by incredible volunteers who give up their time to help the recovery of others. I am sure this further funding announcement will be a boost to them and others throughout East Dunbartonshire helping those with addiction recovery.”
