Kirkintilloch police in fresh plea after sex attack

Police are appealing for the public’s help as part of an ongoing investigation into a sexual assault in Kirkintilloch a week ago.

A woman (20) was walking on the canal footpath, between Hillhead Road and Canal Street, between 11-11.20pm on Friday, 30 April.

She saw a man walking towards her who briefly spoke to her, before grabbing her and sexually assaulting her.

He is described as white with a Glaswegian accent, short brown or dark hair, 5ft 9ins to 6ft tall, aged in his 20s-30s, of slim build. He was wearing a dark-coloured hoodie with the hood up and joggers.Detective Inspector Iain Nelson said: “This was a very distressing incident for the woman.”
