Of course, many of you will already know — over 50,000 free tickets went up for grabs when the date was announced, with Glaswegians getting first priority on an otherwise first come, first served basis.

Those lucky enough to have snapped up tickets can look forward to music from the likes of Kasabian, Kings of Leon, Katy Perry, Paolo Nutini, Coldplay and — wait for it screaming teens — One Direction.

While not everyone can join in the fun this weekend, those with the golden ticket needed at the Glasgow Green gates can head to www.bbc.co.uk/events for more info.
