Care home opens its doors to locals

Wellmeadow Lodge in Newton Mearns is inviting local people to visit the home on Friday, June 16 to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.

From 2pm-4pm, the team will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event.

The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.

Wellmeadow Lodge has organised a summer garden party with fun and games for all the family and guests can sample freshly cooked dishes from around the globe all prepared by the home’s chef Anna Chwalek.

Catherine Brannan, home manager, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents through lasting relationships with the local community across the generations.

“We have planned a fun day for all the family and a warm welcome awaits the people of Newton Mearns.”
