Young athlete from the district are gearing up for The Central Region Pop Lacrosse Championship which takes place at Queen Victoria School in Dunblane on Monday (March 30).
The first game starts at 10am and play-off matches start at around 1pm with presentations at about 2pm. Many of the children who take part come from the Milngavie and Bearsden area and the championship attracts both boys and girls.
One of the organisers Amanda McKie said: “Last year Drymen Primary School represented Scotland at the British Championships and performed the best any Scottish team has in over 20 years where they won runner up spot in the main championships.”
There will be 7 Stirling primary schools competing in this years Central Region event with the possibility of the winner of the under 11 event gaining selection to represent Scotland in the British Championships on Sunday, June 21 at the English Institute for Sport.
There are two sections to the tournament running alongside each other. An open section for all primary pupils and an Under 11 section.
