WEST rugby club have their last game of the season on Saturday away to Dumfries in the RBS Championship League A.
Assistant coach Marc Pope (pictured) says he wants to go out on a high, although there is still some doubt if the game will go ahead because of the freezing weather.
Pope said: “We have a full squad and won our last two games so it would be really good to finish the season with three wins in a row.”
And he added: “Luckily we have managed to make our position safe in the league and are out of the danger relegation zone so we will be playing for the pride of winning.”
West are currently third from bottom on 28 points ahead of Dalziel on 19 points and Dunfermline also on 19. Dumfries are sixth on 37 points.
Pope added: “We will be playing to win even though the result will not really affect our position in the leage.
“The main problem we will have is the weather. We are hoping the game is not cancelled because of the freezing conditions.
“If it is wet, then it could be boggy which will slow the game down.
“This could be a problem as we think our strengths lie in running the ball about the park.”
