West of Scotland under 9s team have had an exceptional year taking part in four tournaments - winning three of them and only losing one on a try count back.
The first victory was in the Ayr tournament earlier last year in which they won all their games. Then in October they won the Lexus Qualifying tournament and followed this up with victory at Anniesland in the Glasgow Academy tournament at the beginning of March this year.
The squad also also qualified at Boroughmuir for the chance to represent Scotland in the UK finals at Worcesters Sixways Stadium last week.
David Somerville from the club said: “In Worcester they all performed outstandingly but had to adjust to a different set of rules from what they are used to in Scotland. They were beaten narrowly twice and won solidly over Oxford Harlequins.”
And he added: “The teams commitment and braveness on the pitch was very impressive and every one of them made a real contribution to the games. If this continues we will have to invest in a new trophy cabinet with three trophies and a pile of medals won this season.”
Coaches Marc Pope and Craig Dunlop also helped the youngsters throughout the season, coaching them to a very high standard.
Mr Somerville added: “Marc will be sadly missed next season as he returns to his homeland of New Zealand with son and key player Josh and family.”
The club would like to thank all the sponsors that made the trip possible, particularly Alan Arnott eyecare, Lexus Glasgow, and Caledonia Management Ltd
