THE annual West of Scotland minis tournament took place at Burnbrae with over 500 kids from all over Scotland taking part in a festival of rugby.
With some of the best clubs in Scotland competing it was a tremendous showcase for the country’s up and coming talent
Teams of P4s up to P7s competed and it was a very good day for the Burnbrae youngsters with the West’s P4s beating Ayr, the P6s beating Glasgow Accies and P7s victorious over Currie.
The P5s were the only team not to win their age category. Boroughmuir battled it out, beat Ayr in the final.
Calum Morrison, West club captain, said: “It was fantastic to see so many kids playing rugby. They love their sport and the skills on display at all age groups were outstanding.
“This was a really good advert for rugby and the future looks as if it is in good hands.”
The winning teams received their medals from Peter Brown, ex-West player and captain of Scotland.
