A trio of brothers from East Dunbartonshire have helped organise one of the best events on the freestyle skiing and snowboarding calendar.

For the fifth year running, Go Big or Go Home was held recently at Bearsden Ski Club.

And this year’s turn out had an amazing 60 competitors and another 100 spectators
enjoying the spectacle.

It was organised once again by Bearsden brothers Matt (18), Danny (22) and 17-year-old Chris McCormick.

GBOGH2015 is now going to be bigger than just one day with a second event in Aberdeen planned for the school holidays in August.

Matt said: “We decided to do it in the summer in winter there are lots of events for skiers and snowboarders, who often go abroad. We wanted to do things at home, and at a time of year when younger people could join in.

“When it first started five years ago it was more like having a club championship, because there had never really been events for freestyle. Now it has grown bigger, and we have sponsors on board to give prizes.”

Held at the Bearsden Ski Club, it showcased some of the finest young talent.

For the next generation there’s a chance to discover the sport with a summer ski school and tubing sessions at Bearsden. Spaces must be booked, call 0141 943 1500.
