Tuffey future uncertain as Partick Thistle prepare to take on Airdrie
PARTICK Thistle keeper Jonny Tuffey refused to confirm whether or not he would be heading for pastures new when his contract expires at the end of the season.
The Northern Ireland Internationalist received the man-of-the-match award following last Saturday's 1-0 defeat to top of the table Inverness Caley Thistle after putting in an outstanding performance.
His efforts saved the home side from a hammering at the hands of Inverness, who dominated to the extent that a more accurate reflection of the game, at least at half time, would have been 4-0.
Following Tuffey's exceptional performance other clubs will now be looking at him with interest.
However, he told Herald Sport: "My contact is up in the summer so we will just have to wait and see what happens. Nothing has been agreed so far and everything is wide open."
Instead Tuffey said his priority, and that of the whole team, was to concentrate on the remaining games.
He said: "Every though I played really well on Saturday, we still lost and that is not a nice feeling."
This Saturday, Partick face bottom of the division Airdrie at New Broomfield and the squad will be desperate for the three points following recent results that look like condemning them to a mid-table finish.
Tuffey said: "The most important thing is getting three points on the board."
And he warned Airdrie would be no push over, despite them being bottom of the league.
Tuesday's game against Raith Rovers at Firhill was postponed due to the weather. No date had been given for the rescheduled fixture as Herald Sport went to press.
