Top golfer Neil swings into action to motor his way into Audi cup

BEARSDEN golfer Neil McConachie has qualified for an Audi Quattro Cup UK regional final tournament this summer.

McConachie won the Glasgow & Ayr Audi Invitational staged at the Dundonald Links Golf Club last Friday with a score of 36-points in the Stableford rules matches.

More than 35 amateur golfers contested the 18-hole Glasgow and Ayr Audi sponsored competition at the Dundonald Links course.

The top-four finishers from the event now pair up in a regional final at the Slaley Hall Golf Club, Hexham near Newcastle-upon-Tyne, on July 26.

The qualifying event was one of almost 50 invitational events being staged throughout the UK. The five regional finals are held in July with the top 18 pairs going forward in to the Audi quattro Cup UK final at Bowood Golf & Country Club near Calne, Wiltshire between September 6-7.

McConachie ultimately could be one of the two pairs representing Great Britain compete in the Audi quattro Cup World Final staged at the Arabella Golf Club in Western Cape, South Africa being staged between November 23-27.
