Thistle pay price for poor performance

Partick Thistle put in arguably the poorest home performance against Hearts for the visitors to run out deserved 4-2 winners.

But it all started so well with Kris Doolan firing in the opener after only five minutes. This goal inspired Thistle but they couldn’t find the back of the net and as the game approached the half way mark they seems to run out of puff.

Hearts however grew in confidence and a minute before half time Dale Carrick nodded in the equaliser.

Worse was to come five minutes into the second half with Billy King thundered a shot high past Paul Gallacher.

Then yan Stevenson planting a header into bottom corner of Thistle net just after the hour mark and adding the fourth in the 68th minute.

Thistle did pull one back in the 88th minute. A clever dummy from substitute Steven Lawless gave Jordan McMillan a shooting chance and the full-back made no mistake with a crisp low drive; but it was too little too late.
