Thistle paid the price for making some basic errors losing 3-1 against Aberbeen who were firing on all cyclinders at Firhill on Saturday.
The visitors took control quickly and the first of their three goals came in the 13th minute from a corner that was flicked in by Calvin Zola.
Aberdeen only had to wait seven minutes for goal number two. This was a dreadfully poor goal from a Thistle perspective to lose. Gabriel Piccolo was caught out down by the Thistle bye line and Zola was able to square the ball back to Peter Pawlett who drilled the ball low into the net despite the best attempts of two Thistle defenders on the line to clear the ball.
A third goal at this stage would all but killed Thistle off but Scott Fox was on hand to save a couple of serious attempts from the visitors.
The game was finally killed off for Thistle in the 69th minute when Josh Magennis collected a pass get in behind the Thistle defence and shoot past Fox and into the back of the net.
