Thistle extend league lead with eighth win in a row

PARTICK Thistle moved four points clear of title chasing rivals Morton with a confident 2-1 away win to Cowdenbeath.

A Kris Doolan double made it eight wins in a row and the second time in four days the Jags have beaten the Blue Brazil.

Aaron Muirhead and Steven Lawless linked up to feed the ball to Doolan who opened the scoring on 12 minutes.

However just after the half hour mark Cowdenbeath hit back when Scott Linton’s long thrown was nodded home by Craig Moore.

Stuart Banningan fired into the side of the net on 40 minutes before Doolan got the desperately needed second.

He rose to connect with a header after the ball was floated over by James Craigen to nod in his 14th goal this season.
