Thistle boss wants to break poor home record

Partick Thistle boss Alan Archibald wants his squad to dig deep against St Mirren tomorrow to record their first home win in the SPFL this term.

The Jags have yet to record a home win despite six league games at Firhill - with three draws and three defeats.

But now with a St Mirren side whom Thistle have already beaten this season heading to Firhill, it will be one of the best chances the Firhill lads will have to record a win.

The gaffer said: “We know the results at home have not been good enough. To have gone the six games without the win is something that we have to sort and there is no better time to do that than tomorrow against St Mirren.”

Victory tomorrow would exorcise the heavy 4-0 thumping at Pittodrie they received from Aberdeen.

Archibald added: “Responding to the defeat up at Aberdeen is a very strong motivation to come out on top on tomorrow.”

Meanwhile, Thistle’s William Hill Scottish Cup fourth round tie against Aberdeen at Firhill will now be live at 12.45pm on Sky Sports on December 1.
