Nine Milngavie and Bearsden swimmers left the wind and rain behind over the recent festive period, travelling to Toremolinos for warm weather long course training.
The group joined swimmers from F.I.R.S.T (Falkirk) and Dumfries for eight days of intensive training encompassing 13 pool and three land sessions.
Spanish sunshine and the training facilities provided the perfect setting to step up preparations for the year ahead.
Not only did it offer much-needed long course exposure, but it also gave the swimmers the chance to test themselves against some of their closest competitors.
It wasn’t quite all work and no play however, with new year celebrations on the beach and a midnight rendition of Auld Lang Syne!
Returning tired but enthused, the swimmers look forward to their first test of 2012 at the west district grand prix this weekend at East Kilbride.
