THE Allander Cyan first team maintained their push on the West of Scotland division 5 title with a dogged 4-1 victory away at Largs.
In fact, the first game actually went to the home side as Alastair Graves was outplayed at 5 by the Largs man of the match, losing 3-1.
At 4, Ken Findlay produced an enduring display to overcome his older opponent, eventually taking a 3-1 win.
Up next was Chris McGeady at 3 who also fell behind before bouncing back to earn a 3-1 victory, as well as his side’s man of the match.
Gregory Dudziak took the no 2 position and faced a five-set battle to pip his Largs opponent to a 3-2 win.
At no 1, Phil Graves then also came from behind to card a 3-1 victory and round-up the team result.
The seconds also came out on top as they ran out 3-2 winners against a strong Hamilton team.First up was Brian Cunningham at 3 who went down 3-1 before the returning Willie Harrower was edged out 3-1 at 4.
Hamish McKay then strolled onto court at 2 and came from behind to record an epic five-set victory.
Meanwhile, Donny Kneale — playing in the top position — had finished his match with a convincing 3-0 win.
The match was to be decided by Ray Small’s game at position 5 and he clinched the 3-2 team victory with a 3-1 win against his energetic opponent.
