Squash club ends season on a high

MEMBERS oF the junior squash section of Allander Squash Club held their annual end of season tournament for the Michael Stoakes Trophy recently.

There was a very high turnout at Allander Leisure Centre in Bearsden, where the team are based.

Many of the competitions were very competitive with Jimmy Small eventually beating Emily Burns in an exciting final.

The event also marked the final appearance of Alastair Graves who is leaving to study at Oxford University.

Alistair has come up through the ranks of the juniors to become a competitive and excellent team player in the gents’ team in the West of Scotland leagues.

Last season he assisted coach Norrie Aitchison with the juniors on their Sunday afternoon coaching sessions.
