ON Saturday West were away at Cartha Queen’s Park where they were comprehensively beaten by a more passionate and experienced Cartha team.
West were second best in every area, with there being very few positives for the coaching team to take from the game.
Ewan Smith, West head coach (pictured), reflected on the match: “It was men against boys out there.
“They wanted it more and were prepared to put their bodies on the line to get the result.
“They were more aggressive, showed a greater commitment and really looked like they were enjoying themselves.
“We lacked any of that and our poor decisions or continual mistakes just made it so easy for them.
“We have three games left and we’re far from safe as both Dalziel and Dunfermline could surprise a few teams.
“We have a few weeks off now due to the Six Nations then we have two big games (Ardrossan away and Greenock home) which we are more than capable of winning, it all depends on which West team turns up.”
