Schools’ cross country win for Boclair Academy duo

GARSCUBE Harriers held its annual Schools’ Cross Country race last Saturday and in the S3-S6 Boys race Craig Jardine from Boclair Academy was the winner with Emma Ferrie from the same school winning the girls race

Third was Amy Drysdale from Bearsden Academy.

In the senior S1/2 boys group Aidan Johnston from Douglas Academy was first with Lewis Serpell from Lomond, Helensburgh coming second. Callum McKay from Boclair Academy came third.

Bearsden Academy pupil Holly Little won the girls’ race.

In the junior section, Cameron Crooks from St Andrew’s Primary School finished second in the P5 category behind Joshua Allan from Woodhill Primary, Bishopbriggs.

The event attracted a total of 178 runners to Maryhill Park last Saturday.

Other winners from schools this side of the district include: P5 team runners-up: Bearsden Primary Euan Devenney, Russell Walker, Dougal Spenceley. P5 Girls team bronze: Bearsden Primary’s Ciara Rogers, Hannah Nibbs, Freya Esdaile. P6 Boys runner-up: Elliot Duff from Mosshead Primary.

Team event first: Mosshead Primary, Bearsden: Elliot Duff, Daniel McGarrie, James Cathro. P6 Girls: First Emma Gilmour Killermont Primary School.

Team event: first Bearsden Primary Sarah Turnbull, Hannah Lyon, Cara McCauley.
