Performance pathway open for talented footie players

Budding football hopefuls are being encouraged to take part in an innovative new pathway programme to nurture young talent.

Trial dates for the new intake of 2020 Development Centres in East Dunbartonshire have now been confirmed.

The centres provide players in primary five, six and seven the opportunity to begin their journey through the association’s performance pathway.

The Scottish FA’s strategic plan called Scotland United: A 2020 Vision, includes a performance strategy to nurture the country’s best players and establish a clear pathway into the Scotland national teams and the 2020 Development Centres are a crucial first step on this pathway.

For children born in 2003 and 2004 there will be a trials on Monday August 13 at Bearsden Academy between 5pm and 6.30pm. Primary 7 pupils born in 2002 will have trials at the school on Wednesday August 15 from 5pm to 6.30pm.
