Penalty and own goal secure points for Thistle

THISTLE maintained its six-in-a-row 100 per cent league winning run with a 2-1 home victory against Cowdenbeath - thanks to a penalty in the first half and an own goal in the second.

After Chris Erskine was brought down by Marc McKenzie, Aaron Muirhead stepped up to score on 25 minutes.

Cowdenbeath levelled four minutes after the break.

But Thistle went ahead again in the 70th minute thanks to left-back Scott Linton who guided Aaron Sinclair’s cross into the net.
