Partick Thistle get set to take on Ross County

IT'S been a miserable couple of weeks to be a Partick Thistle supporter with Ian McCall's squad now failing to score in 459 minutes of football — and with only 180 to go they are running out of time fast.

But putting a brave face on the squad's run of defeats, centre half John Robertson reckons everyone in the league has had their fair share of upsets and pointed to Airdrie's recent result against Dundee.

He said: "Look at Airdrie United, they beat Dundee who are second top. No game is easy in this league. It's one of the tightest league this season with all teams more than capable of causing upset."

Saturday's game against Ayr should on paper have been a foregone conclusion, but as has so often been the case with Thistle recently, they failed to take the opportunities presented to them and suffered at the hands of a team who had luck on their side.

Robertson added: "I don't know what went wrong against Ayr. It was just one of those games. We had some chances, but failed to take them. At the end of the day luck was not on our side."

The pundits view on the re-scheduled no score draw against Raith Rovers on Monday was pretty damning.

But Robertson said: "There was not much in the game. It was just a hard fought draw and we cancelled each other out."

Looking forward to tomorrow's away clash against Ross Country, Robertson reckons it will be another tough match.

He said: "Ross Country are in the Scottish Cup final and their confidence will be high. Obviously we will be going out to win, but it will not be an easy playing them at home."
