Partick Thistle get set to take on Morton
PARTICK Thistle will not be taking anything for granted when they face Morton away from home on Saturday — despite their opponents struggling near the foot of the table.
Defender Martyn Corrigan reckons the whole First Division is still quite fluid with a lot of strong teams still vying for positions.
Corrigan, who picked up a hamstring injury against Queen of the South two weeks ago and is unsure if he will be in the starting line up at Cappielow, said: "Complacency would be one of our worst enemies at the moment. In football you never say never until the end and this is true of all our games — whether they are at home or away."
He revealed that the squad were ready for the game and have been working hard in training, adding: "We all know it is going to be a tough game, but we are going to organise ourselves and play as I know we can."
"We have put in the work in training and I don't see why we cannot come away will the points. We need to play to our strengths rather than look for Morton's weaknesses."
Part of Thistle's strength come from the squad's ability to play what Corrigan says is a "good passing game".
He added: "I know it sounds obvious, but we need to play to our strengths. We have still another nine games left to play and there are 27 points still up for grabs."
Thistle follow their trip to Morton with a visit to Dunfermline Athletic on Tuesday night, kick off at 7.45pm.
