Partick Thistle shirt sponsor goes into administration

PARTICK Thistle face financial uncertainty after shirt sponsors Macb went into administration.

It was announced this week that the soft drink manufacturer is in trouble, leaving the Jags uncertain about where they stand.

Chairman David Beattie said: “The Macb name appears on the shirts and on some other advertising. At the moment, the company is in administration. Until we know what the administrator intends to do, we will have to wait and see.

“We will keep going. The worst case scenario is that the company is folded and we lose the sponsorship income. We would try to find a new sponsor immediately, but it is a lot easier to get a new sponsor for the new season so we may lose six months of shirt sponsorship.

“PTFC have never struggled for sponsorship interest and I would expect this to be the case should the need arise. The club is currently in a very positive position as last years accounts show and with initiatives like Kids go Free we are a very attractive brand.”
